2015

This is a group project that was completed as part of my Mechanical Engineering Minor. Much of the model making was completed by myself, by hand for a demonstrable Mt Tambourine Observation Deck Design Proposal.

To investigate and observe the forces acting on an observation platform in a practical sense, a plausible design concept was created. A model was created off this design, with the dimensions 910mm in length, 50mm in depth and 200mm in width. A very specific weight area was assigned to this task, where the platform was required to hold a 15 kilogram load yet break before a 25 kilogram load was applied. The final design was considerate and in accordance with all of the many design constraints within this task. The design would be limited in terms of dimensional proportions in order to fit within the testing rig, as well as its required performance characteristics.
